Our President, Greg Jones, retired on October 31, 2025, after an incredible 37 years at King Lighting.
Throughout his career, Greg wore many hats. In his early days, he performed lighting calculations by hand before moving into outside sales. He later managed our Dayton office, where he led the team to new growth and opportunities. In 2007, Greg became a partner with Mike O’Ryan and Gary Harmeling, and in 2020 he stepped into the role of President, guiding King Lighting confidently into the next decade.
Greg leaves behind a lasting legacy of leadership rooted in teamwork, joy, and genuine care for others. He frequently speaks of King Lighting as family, often saying he never left because it was such a special place to work.
Greg’s wit and wisdom will be greatly missed, but we wish him nothing but the best as he begins his next adventures with his wife, Annette. They are looking forward to traveling, spending time with their sons and growing family, and enjoying peaceful moments at Norris Lake—perhaps while sipping a good bourbon.
Greg is also known for what we fondly call “Gregisms,” which capture both his sense of humor and his philosophy on doing business. We’d like to share a few of these with you as we celebrate his remarkable career and well-earned retirement.
